February 17, 2020
A full body massage will help reduce stress, strengthen your muscles, keep you looking refreshed and energized and improve your health all round. Valentine’s day is almost here. Treat your special one to a romantic spa date. But before you head out, how do you prepare for your massage and what do you do afterward? This article highlights a few of the points to note before taking a full body massage.
Drink Enough Water
It is always good to drink enough water. Most people find it difficult to drink water forgetting it keeps you hydrated and helps get rid of waste.
Drinking water before a massage will help you feel more energized and will greatly reduce your stress level.
Avoid Smoking
As certified therapists, we advise our clients not to smoke an hour to their massage session. This is because during massage your body releases toxins and so to avoid releasing toxins with displeasing odor it’s best to keep this rule.
Pay Attention to Your Therapist
If you haven’t had a massage before you may not know what to expect and even if you have had one before, every therapist is quite different. We advise all our clients to listen to all the instructions given and ask questions where necessary. It helps our therapist in curating the massage session that is most suitable for your condition. If you don’t, you might end up having a bad experience.
Hit the Gym
After a massage, you will feel so relaxed and all you want to do is find a bed and sleep. We advise our clients to schedule their massage after a gym session when your muscles have been exercised and when they need pampering that’s one of the best times to enjoy your massage.
Communicate
The therapist shouldn’t be the only one doing the talking. There is room for communication. Before your massage session, you are expected to share any health information you will like your therapist to know, as well as the type of massage you want. Don’t forget to state if you have allergies to lotions, oils, and powders.
Finally, With the stress we go through on a daily basis we need some sort of relief. If you have to save up for it, do so but take out time to visit a massage center. They are there to make you feel better. You will end up feeling a lot more relaxed and the pain in your muscles will reduce by a significant amount.
